Manchester United have reportedly opened talks to sign Eintracht Frankfurt winger Ante Rebic.
Rebic, 24, was one of the breakout stars at the World Cup and scored in Croatias Group D victory over Argentina on their route to the final against France.
Jose Mourinho is looking to bring in attacking reinforcements and is intent on bringing in a wideman this summer, with Anthony Martial set to leave United ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
While Croatia and Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic was Mourinhos priority target, Rebic has emerged as a more realistic solution target for the Red Devils.
According to Sportsmail, United have made contact with Rebics entourage over a potential move to Old Trafford.
Arsenal and Bayern Munich have also been linked with the £44million-rated Rebic in recent weeks.
Frankfurt sporting director Fredi Bobic admitted earlier this month that the club may be unable to stop Rebic leaving.
I am very happy about the success of Ante Rebic with the Croatian national team, Bobic told Sport 1.
The players and the coaching team are watching the World Cup games together in the training camp in the USA and are especially excited about Rebic.
So far there are no offers available and were planning a steady season with Ante Rebic for the new season. Of course we know that a lot can happen when a big club makes an offer.
We cannot compete economically with the big ones, but thats nothing new.
Mourinho believes United should still be looking to sign two more players this summer.
One thing is what I would like, the Portuguese told ESPN earlier this week.
Another thing is what is going to happen.
Asked how many new signings he would ideally want, Mourinho replied: I would get two more players.
