Why does Bluetooth and Wi-Fi keep turning on automatically on the iPhone?
You may well have thought you have turned off the Bluetooth or Wi-Fi on your iPhone, only for it to reconnect without you turning it back on.
This is because you didn’t actually turn them off, you just thought that you had.
The new control centre on the iOS 11 system, which you swipe up from the bottom of the home screen, feature Bluetooth and Wi-Fi controls, but these cannot turn off the settings entirely.
Clicking the features on and off on the control centre simply disconnects you from any current pairings and networks.
The features are still active until you go into the ‘Settings’ section on your iPhone and turn them off there.
You may notice the ‘re-connection’ issue in the mornings as iOS 11 automatically attempts to reconnect to known devices at 5am every morning if they have been switched off on the control centre.
So if you really don’t want your Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on, simply head to ‘Settings’ and turn it off for good.
