A sailor whose boat crashed into rocks after he blacked out sea managed to escape unharmed.
He banged his head and was knocked unconscious as he tried to regain control of the 30ft boat amongst strong waves off the coast of Weymouth, Dorset late last night.
Coastguard crews raced to the scene after watching the drama unfold from dry land.
When they arrived they found the sailor dazed and confused with his two pet dogs who were also on board.
Although they could not move the boat back out to sea, emergency services winched the man to safety.
Remarkably, he sustained no serious injuries.
Tony Goss, from Wyke Coastguard, said: It was a very technical job because the vessel was banging so hard against the rocks.
The casualty was on board with his two dogs and was very dazed having previously been knocked unconscious as a result of a bang to the head.
Our first priority was for him and we assisted in winching him out of the boat.
